The author of the poetry collections Night Garden & My First Beatrice, David Stankiewicz was born in Boston in 1973. He grew up in Wayland, Massachusetts, not far from Thoreau’s Concord. He holds graduate degrees from Andover Newton Theological School and the Stonecoast MFA program.
Since 2008, David has taught writing, literature, and ethics at Southern Maine Community College. He resides in Cape Elizabeth, Maine with his wife, two daughters, and dog.
David is a devotee of Czeslaw Milosz, Denise Levertov, Simone Weil, U2, and Bob Dylan (among many others).
A lifelong fly fisherman, he considers the rivers of Maine and Vermont’s Battenkill sacred waters.
